Brother Yun
Salisbury Vineyard is honoured to host Brother Yun and Flame International in Salisbury on Wednesday 6th June 2012.
After many years imprisoned for his faith, Brother Yun escaped from Zhengzhou Maximum Security prison (China) from which it is reported that nobody had previously escaped. He described how he heard the voice of the Holy Spirit, telling him to simply walk out of the heavily guarded prison gate despite having had both his legs broken. Risking being shot on the spot, he obeyed the voice and walked straight through several prison doors that were somehow left open, in front of many prison guards, across the prison yard and finally out of the main gate. Declared the only man to ever have escaped the prison, an official investigation concluded that this was an “embarrassing mishap” and that, “Yun received no human help in his escape”.
Flame International is a Christian ministry with a passion to reach out with God’s love to broken and hurting people, particularly those in the poorest and post-conflict countries of the world, and to see nations healed and walking in forgiveness and reconciliation. Flame International is working in partnership with the Chinese Church to facilitate the placing, training and orientation of Chinese missionaries in war-torn South Sudan.
This joint effort is part of “Back to Jerusalem” – the vision of the Chinese church to evangelise unreached peoples from the eastern provinces of China, westwards towards Jerusalem. The vision was birthed among the Chinese in the 1920s, and since that time, the churches of China have striven and even suffered persecution to fulfill what they believe is their integral role in fulfilling the Great Commission.
Brother Yun will be speaking at the Blackledge Theatre, Godolphin School [For directions click here]. The evening will begin with a time of worship at 6pm. Please allow time to find a parking space – there are spaces on site, but we are expecting lots of guests, so please be prepared to park nearby and walk if the car park is full. As of 31st May 2012 we are fully booked for this event. There will not be tickets for sale on the night.
