Church Done Differently
Sundays at 10.30am
Salisbury High School

Real people. Real God.

Great Coffee. Relaxed Atmosphere.

We are not a meeting or a place, or just something to do on a Sunday. We are a family who want to know God better. And so we make time to do just that.

Here’s what you could expect on a typical Sunday morning (not necessarily in this order).

People arrive from 10.15am for coffee (Starbucks Coffee). We believe that you cannot separate worship from real life, so the coffee is as much a part of our gathering as anything else.

...the coffee, cookies, and juice are on us, you can sit wherever you like, and please make yourself at home - we do.

The service, which is usually over by 12.15pm, begins with an extended time of singing at 10.30am.

Feel free to join in (the words will be projected on a screen), or to simply listen. Its ok to stand or to sit, and don’t worry if your kids make some noise - so do ours.

The reason why we worship in this way is that we have gathered to tell Jesus how much we love Him. In our view, true adoration cannot be rushed. So we try to give Jesus our first and our best. We sing because music helps us to connect with our emotions and feelings. These are the languages of our heart - the deepest part of our being. For our worship to be truly worthy of God, it must come from our heart.

After the singing, there may be a time for those who are part of the church to lead us in prayer or to share anything they think they have felt God say to them. We will try to explain what’s happening as it does.

Sometimes we have some notices, but then we have a break. There will be refills of tea and coffee, and the children will go to their activities.

All our kids workers have undergone a Criminal Records check. The children’s activities are based on stories from the bible. Our aim is to teach them about following Jesus, but to ensure that church is something they associate with fun.

Meanwhile the adults also spend time learning about what God has to say through His book, the Bible. We aim to connect people with God in relevant ways, and encourage one another on our spiritual journey.

And finally, we spend some time listening to God and praying for one another - it is our experience that God cares about the details of our lives, and wants to show Himself to us (if we will let Him). Feel free to watch, or sit quietly, or receive prayer - it’s your call. We will try to explain what is happening as we go along.
