Have you ever wondered whether God actually cares about you? If he's really there, does he have time for little ol' me? Yes! For quite some time now, a small team of us friends have been meeting together and praying for clues that would lead us to specific people in the city centre that God wants us help. We call it a treasure hunt.
It starts off something like this, "Excuse me, is your name Laura? It is? Well Laura, it might sound strange but I'm on a sort of treasure hunt and I think you're my treasure!" What happens next is simply awesome: we show them the other clues we scribbled down and watch as their eyes widen. The clues pinpoint not only their name, where we would bump into them and what they would be wearing, but also their pain (sometimes physical, sometimes emotional) or their hopes. Then we offer prayer and, I kid you not, we've witnessed healing of long term physical ailments and all manner of aches and injuries. We've seen smiles as we have encouraged people we have met to pursue their dreams—just like that, in the middle of the street! Why? Because God loves us, treasures us, and wants to have a relationship with us.
