Buzz

This is my interval timer. It's set to vibrate every 10 minutes and its been the best £15 I have spent in the last 6 months. It was someone else's idea, but I love it.

Every time it vibrates, I turn my attention and affection to Jesus. This simple practice of living in His presence and recognising His being with me every moment of every day has been delightful.

The bible says that in His presence is fullness of joy. If this is true, then being with Jesus has got to result in becoming more joy full. I am coming to see that following Jesus and joy cannot be separated - there was a time when I would have said that joy was an optional extra. But this is not the case. Joy is the natural response of those who have been with Jesus.

So my trusty buzzer has served me for a month now. I am finding that I am beginning to express my affection to Jesus even before it goes off. The real test will be whether those around me notice a change. Will they be able to tell that I have been with Jesus? Will it be joy that gives it away?
